After over a four-year absence, the Grammy-winning rock duo The Black Keys brought their Peaches ‘n Kream World Tour to a very rowdy crowd at The Bomb Factory in Dallas, TX. Along with opener Eddie 9V, the night was a rockin’ time for all right in the heart of Deep Ellum. From multiple covers with their own little flair to all the heavy hitters in the group’s spanning catalogue, the night was truly one to remember.

Starting the set with his unreleased song “Down Here”, opener Eddie 9V brought the heat. His music was a perfect mix of southern rock and blues, keeping the ever-growing crowd on their feet and cheering for more. You could easily see the dedication to his craft in the many guitar solos peppered throughout the set. Ending with “Whole Lot Coming For You”, you could feel the energy in the packed venue as everyone waited for the main event of the night.

Although knowing the setlist ahead of time can be fun, this tour has been consistently switching the order of the songs, with some shows getting exclusive ones altogether. Beginning their set with “I Got Mine”, the stage was flooded with deep red and gold lighting, almost instantly bringing the near-sold-out room to a frenzy. Having the band’s name in giant lights hovering above them looked beautiful no matter where in the venue you were, blending in during the moments where a more acid-washed projection was used a couple times throughout the show

It wouldn’t be a Black Keys show without hearing the classics like “Gold on The Ceiling” or “Howlin’ For You”, but including a handful of covers like “Cinnamon Girl” by Neil Young and “I Wanna Be Your Dog” by The Stooges felt like an extra treat. Choosing to end the show with an explosive encore of their biggest hits, “Little Black Submarines” and “Lonely Boy”, felt like the perfect endcap to one amazing show.

The Black Keys are just getting started with this tour, with more US, UK, and European dates throughout the rest of this summer into early fall. Remaining tickets can be found on their official website, along with their newest album Peaches! on your streaming service of choice.
