Waterparks are having a packed 2025, with a US tour and three new singles out, “Red Guitar,” “If Lyrics Were Confidential,” and more recently “Any Minute Now.” Consisting of Awsten (lead vocals and guitar), Geoff (bass and vocals), and Otto (drums and vocals) they’ve been in a band since 2011 and have seen it all. This new single looks back at the past, growing up, and taking it one day at a time.

The opening verse touches on how lost Awsten feels, but still holds hope on what he can control, “Think about how dumb the average person is / They’re still smarter than half the other people that exist / But even geniuses and scientists don’t know what the meaning is / I bet they’re all as lost on it as me.” Even the smartest person in the room can have a sense of hopelessness. In the calming yet eye-opening chorus, Awsten reflects on his time as a child and when reality will hit “And ever since I was a kid / I’d wonder when that moment is / That life would just make sense to me somehow / Any minute now.” The constant “what ifs,” “if I did this then maybe,” “I should’ve said,” etc running through your head 24/7 can take a toll on you. This track is one of the band’s more laid-back but sentimental songs.

As a fan of Waterparks since 2016, it’s been wonderful to see them grow into the band they are today. These lyrics, with the help of soft drums and an acoustic guitar, are rare for the Houston band. But when it comes together, it’s a cohesive, beautiful, and memorable single. Waterparks are not shy about speaking about what’s on their mind and using a wide-range of guitar riffs, drum solos, and influential lyrics. Listen to “Any Minute Now” here
