Located in the City of Dallas, Texas, the South Side Ballroom opened its doors on October 25 to welcome All Time Low and their “Everyone’s Talking” Tour in support of their new album of the same name that was released on October 17. All Time Low brought Mayday Parade, The Cab and The Paradox as special guests for this stop in the tour.
As the room went dark, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Alex Gaskarth walked on stage with just his guitar and started to sing “[cold open]” which serves as the introductory track of their 10th album.
As the track came to an end, Alex walked off the stage, soon after Jack, Zack, Rian and Dan who is the “fifth member” of the band took their places on stage with Alex joining them and started to sing “Oh No!” followed by “SUCKERPUNCH” and “Weightless” from their Nothing Personal album.
Their set was divided into two acts. The first act included songs “Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don’t)”, “Sleeping In”, ”Little Bit” and “Glitter & Crimson”. Alex dedicated the song “Missing You” to the fans who were not able to attend the concert. “Goodnight, C’est La Vie” played in the background as the following messages appeared on a black screen: “To Be Continued…”, “Be Right Back…” and “Act 2”.
The setlist for Act 2 included songs such as “Hate This Song” , which is a collaboration between All Time Low and I Prevail. In the album version, lead vocalist Eric Vanlerberghe from I Prevail does screaming vocals for the lyrics “I hope it makes you sick, sick, sick”. Alex mesmerized the crowd by doing the same screaming vocals when performing this song live.
While performing “Monsters feat. blackbear”, Alex also does blackbear’s rapping part of the song, which hypes the fans every time.
From the moment All Time Low hit the stage every single fan in the venue sang along to every song matching the ebullience each member creates throughout their shows.
During one of the many interactions the band had with the fans, Jack said that they have been playing in Dallas since 2006 prompting him to say “this is my favorite crowd we’ve had in Dallas, you guys are loud” which caused the crowd to clap and cheer in happiness.
For the encore part of the night All Time Low performed “The Weather”,“Lost in Stereo” and “Dear Maria, Count Me In”. Before singing fan favorite “Dear Maria,” Jack told Alex that there had been a little beetle hanging by the setlist the whole show but he had lost track of him making him sad, prompting Alex to say that “no insects were harmed during the show”. Jack asked the crowd to take one step back since they were looking “for one small beetle, she’s like the size of a rice”. Alex then said that the beetle left the venue before they played “Dear Maria” since he was only there for “Time Bomb”. Eventually, Jack found his beetle friend and everyone cheered simultaneously. Alex thanked everyone for attending the show and said “we’ll see you next time” before singing the famous “I got your picture, I’m coming with you, Dear Maria, count me in” and with those words the fans jumped and sang along to bring the marvelous night to an end.
