On September 21, hard rockers From Ashes to New brought their New Disease tour, named for their latest single released in July, to a packed house of raucous fans in Oklahoma City, OK at the Tower Theatre. Supporting the tour were fellow hard rockers Magnolia Park, Until I Wake, and Not Enough Space, setting concertgoers up for an energetic night of moshing, headbanging, and an all-around good time.

First up were scene newcomers Not Enough Space, and they kicked some major ass in their brief 20 minute timeslot as vocalists Lizzie and Liv aggressively harmonized with each other on mosh-pit-ready anthems such as “New Age Cannibal,” and “Primitive,” among other selections from their latest release Weaponize Your Rage, which dropped September 12 via Thriller Records.

Next up were hard rockers Until I Wake, who kept the energy flowing with tracks such as “Cold,” “Octane,” and the sing-along-ready “Inside My Head”, giving the crowd an opportunity to get in their feelings and radiate them back towards the stage.

The last of the three opening acts on this stacked lineup was Magnolia Park, who I’d seen once before on last years’ Summer School tour and was ecstactic to catch again given that they’ve dropped a new album, April’s VAMP, since then – which was showcased with tracks such as “CULT” and the extremely catchy “SHALLOW”, alongside older favorites like “Misfits” and “Animal”. Magnolia Park have an excellent live energy and are definitely worth seeing if you have a chance.

Finally, around 9:30 p.m., it was time for the rap-rockers in From Ashes to New to take the stage, and instantly all eyes were on them as the opening notes for the tour’s title track rang through the venue, followed by fan-favorite “Nightmare”, and the emotional “My Fight.”

A common theme through the night was mentions of the importance of expressing one’s feelings instead of keeping things bottled inside, which many of us use our music tastes to do. Co-vocalist Matt Brandyberry even got a bit candid about his own mental health struggles leading up to the start of this tour, encouraging fans to talk about their feelings instead of keeping everything bottled up, which is super important.

Other setlist highlights included “Hope You’re Happy”, which made its live debut at the tour opener the previous night in Missouri, “Scars That I’m Hiding”, “Hate Me Too,” and “Barely Breathing”, with both the band and the crowd giving it their all the entire night. In all, it was a phenomenal show, and I highly suggest checking out From Ashes to New’s live set if you are able.

The New Disease tour picks up on September 30 in Portland, OR before continuing westward, concluding on November 14 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Tickets to all upcoming shows can be found on FATN’s website.
