Fresh off the Warped Tour stage in Long Beach, alternative rockers Cliffdiver set off on a short run of tour dates as they made their way back to their home state of Oklahoma, concluding with a raucous, intimate show at Oklahoma City’s 89th Street that was definitely a night to remember for all in attendance. Accompanied on the bill were All In Ur Head, an alt-rock trio from Las Vegas, as well as Oklahoma’s own King Pink and Hot Rod Bob.

First to take the stage was Hot Rod Bob, hailing from Claremore, OK, and they got the crowd fired up with their brief set of rock tunes. The night was extra special for them and their fans, as it was their first live show in 13 years following the recent 20th anniversary re-release (and streaming debut) of their 2004 album No Siree Bob. The band’s next show will be in Tulsa, OK supporting The Normandys on August 23.

Keeping up the local band streak, next up were OKC’s own King Pink, who kept the energy flowing as they effortlessly jammed their way through tracks like recent release “Stay Awake”, throwback selections such as “Limbo”, and even an unreleased song or two.

The final support act before the main attraction was the Las Vegas pop-punk trio All In Ur Head, making their Oklahoma City debut and having an absolute blast doing so. The trio put on a very energetic set and had the whole crowd jumping and dancing along. While this was my first exposure to their music, it will certainly not be my last!

Finally, last but CERTAINLY not least, it was time for Cliffdiver to take the stage, and there was not a still figure in the room throughout their entire set. If you’re looking for some feel-good, wholesome pop-rock music full of heart and soul, then look no further than Cliffdiver, and even more specifically, a Cliffdiver live show. Fronted by Joey Duffy and Briana Wright, the Tulsa-based band goes out of their way to make sure the entire crowd is energized and feels like part of their community while looking like they’re having the time of their lives doing so.

Setlist highlights included the opener “thirty, flirty, and thriving!!!”, a short Creed medley of “With Arms Wide Open” and “Higher”, “Dayz Gone”, “Lord Have Mercer”, and the setlist closer/quintessential Cliffy track “Gas City”. Other memorable moments included Joey bringing his son, Dallas, up on stage to provide some guest vocals, as well as him leading an “OKC” chant in honor of the OKC Thunder’s recent NBA championship win.

Next up for Cliffdiver is an appearance at Riot Fest in September – information about all upcoming events can be found on their website.
