The 23-year-old Tampa-born singer, Aidan Bissett, is back with his electrifying single, “Ricochet.” This release comes weeks after his first single of the new year, “Are we in love yet?”, which focused more on finding love and having butterflies about being honest. Aidan teased this single on his socials, and now fans can finally hear the song in full. This new era leads into more of his rock/alternative side, and touches on that person coming back into his life, but not knowing when to put his foot down.

The opening verse “You keep me like a secret / In your forever sun / You love to be my weakness / And you get, yeah, you get what you want,” depicts how much Aidan is being hidden. Aidan explains that he’s stuck in a trance, and she’s always in the right. In the chorus, he says that she’s always hoping back in, and he doesn’t know when to tell her to stop, “You ricochet back into my life / You always come back to say goodbye / You’ve got a sharp tongue that could cut like a knife .” With all of these red flags disguised as green ones, Aidan can’t help but reply back. He does a great job of explaining how relationships end, but you never really stop thinking about that person. Their traits, personality, gestures, everything reminds you of them.

As a teenager in his early twenties, juggling love, music, and keeping it all together, Aidan’s music goes through all of those stages, and more. His soothing voice puts you at ease, but he also jolts you with strong drums and impactful guitar solos. This new era portrays his maturity and what he’s learned about himself.
