As the tour wraps up its Texas leg, post-hardcore juggernauts Movements brought their jam-packed show to a full Southside Ballroom in Dallas, Texas. Teaming up with Citizen, Scowl, and Downward to open up the night, each band brought a little something for everyone to enjoy. Whether is vibey shoegaze or punk mosh pits, the night was definitely one to remember.

First up on the lineup were Oklahoma natives Downward. Celebrating the release of their new album Downward (2) the same day, the band’s opening set was the perfect mix of moody and edge.

Turning up the heat to a hundred was Scowl, making an explosive entrance with their song “Wired”. Mixing screaming vocals in most of their songs with a beautiful singing voice like in “Psychic Dance Routine”, front woman Kat Moss commands the stage like a pro. Closing out their set with “Opening Night”, the band left the pumped up crowd ready for more.

Citizen is one of those bands that needs no introduction. Starting off with one of their most popular songs “The Night I Drove Alone”, the band was covered in darkness, only illuminated with a few striking red lights along with the crowd. Watching the fans scream along with the lyrics was quite the emotional sight. Switching gears to something more heavy, the band immediately followed with “Death Dance Approximately” and other songs such as “Dogs” and “I Want To Kill You”.

Although the night up to now was already wild, that increased tenfold when Movements took the stage with “Afraid To Die”. Combining bright and beautiful strobe lights with their infectious energy, their performance was addicting to watch and be a part of. Playing a pretty mixed collection of old and new, some songs to watch out for on their seventeen song set list include “Killing Time”, “Colorblind”, and “Skin to Skin” just to name a few. Ending the night with their emotional hit “Daylily”, the band gave their final farewell and promised to come back to Dallas during their next tour and beyond.

Movements’ spring tour continues on until April, ending in Los Angeles before picking back up again in May for the EU leg. Remaining tickets can be found on the bands’ official website!
