The first day of a tour brings many emotions to just about everyone, from the bands, to the fans, and everyone in between. This sentiment rung out clear on Last Dinosaurs’ first show of their USA 2025 Tour last week right in the heart of Dallas, TX. Along with the openers Jasper Bones and Tipling Rock, The Studio at The Factory got the first taste of an incredible show.

Opening up the night with a dark and moody solo set was Jasper Bones. Although their time on stage ended shorter than planned due to technical issues, they were a perfect start to the night. With Bones only being illuminated by a few stage lights, the venue felt like a small, smoky lounge more than anything, creating an intimate feeling during every song.

Picking up the pace with some self-described “beach pop” was Tipling Rock. Their energy was infectious from the beginning, front man Ben Andre and bassist Dillon Salkovitz going back and forth across the stage. As each band member perfectly positioned around a neon sign with their namesake, they played a few of their most streamed songs, including “miss me if u want to”, “Low Tide Love’ and “Staring”.

From personal experience, many indie shows tend to draw a larger female crowd. Imagine the shock when some of the loudest and rowdiest fans were guys, crowd surfing their friends and creating dance circles. That’s the kind of energy Last Dinosaurs brings to the stage, a show truly for everyone. Mainly focusing on 2018 release Yumeno Garden and their newest album KYORYU, the 21-song setlist kept the crowding moving from start to finish. Playing one of their biggest hits “Italo Disco” partly in Spanish for the Texan crowd and ending the night with an encore of “Andy”, it’s safe to say that the beginning of this tour was the start of something truly  special.

Last Dinosaurs’ tour continues across the US, Canada, and Mexico until March 29th. Remaining tickets can be found on the band’s official website, but they are selling out fast!
