The Canadian Rock sensation Silverstein is celebrating their 25th year anniversary with a massive tour all over North America and Europe. The tour has amassed a huge following due to successful shows since it started last January 22 in Fl. I’ve followed the band since I heard Discovering The Waterfront back in 2005 and was beyond excited to review this show. The Factory in Deep Ellum was the ideal setting. The crowd has been piling up even before the openers began with shirts of various albums from the group showcasing the success of the band’s progression and evolution through the years.

Split Chain kicks the night off and the UK based band immediately captures our attention. A rising star in the UK’s music scene that was barely formed a year ago. They are considered to be the Future of Nü Metal / Alternative Rock/ Shoegaze in The UK Scene Today. They are fun to watch live and have a commanding presence on stage. “Haven”, “Descend”, and “I Don’t Wanna Be Me” are some of the songs they played that left a refreshing taste and hyped the crowd in preparation for the bands to follow.

Arm’s Length, another proud Canadian band, picked up the pace immediately after. Formed 2018, the emo group was quick to reel me in with their melody and relatable lyrics that stay true to one of my favorite genres. You should definitely give them a listen and follow if you like pop-punk/midwest emo. They serenaded the crowd with their hits like “Garamond”, “In Loving Memory”, and “Up In Smoke” and delivered an incredible performance.

Thursday is a band from New Jersey formed in 1997. When they released Full Collapse and War All The Time in the early 2000s, I played them on repeat. Geoff Rickly is a rockstar and sounds just as good now. He is a showman and can easily sway a crowd. Adding the surprise of special guest Wade MacNeil from Alexisonfire on guitars to make their performance even more exhilarating. Easily one of the best live performing bands I’ve had the privilege of witnessing.

As clips from how the band started out began to play, you start to feel this heavy nostalgia. The crowd is silent as they see flashbacks from 25 years of Silverstein. You can’t help but appreciate how much this band has left their mark with fans through the years. They come on stage and the crowd is deafening. They perform hits chronologically from their newest album to their first with fans singing along all the way. You feel firsthand how the band has evolved but has stayed true to their unique sound. Circle pits and crowd surfing was a constant through their performance. A live announcement of more dates and legs of the tour, incredible screen graphics, wonderful music, smoke, and confetti were all part of the recipe for a great night. Every song on their setlist takes you back and does not miss the mark.

An outstanding show from all bands and an unforgettable night. The tour has added more legs and dates that stretches out all over North America and Europe. Follow the tour and Silverstein HERE and I highly recommend you don’t miss out.
