some fear releases the final preview to their self-titled debut album some fear which is set to release this January 16, 2025. “The Faucet Does All The Crying” is the final song to an 8 track record in collaboration with Rite Field Records. The band was a former solo project from Branden “Bran” Palesano that started in Oklahoma City, Ok back in 2021 that evolved the addition of Ray Morgan, Lennon Bramlett, and James Tunell. The band recently released their first EP Picture last year under the same record label.

The song is one of the more unique sounds I’ve listened to. It’s a good mix of lo-fi and slowcore. The tone is very melancholic and hypnotic as you delve into it deeper. Branden sings with such piercing emotions. And when the bridge hits with the other instruments blending in I’m lost in the immense feeling of it.

“This is one of the first songs I wrote for the album, and it was originally going to be the name for the album,” says Palesano. “I was in a place where I felt numb to everything around me, I needed to feel something, and this song was a cathartic release for me at the time. It’s me at my most vulnerable and because of that I felt very proud of this song.”

I listened to the rest of the released previews for the album and they are just as wonderful as this song. The band also announced upcoming shows with Skirts in Texas and Oklahoma.
