With the fall concert season in full swing, headliner Enter Shikari and support acts You Me At Six and Yours Truly brought the first night of their North America 2024 Tour to Dallas, Texas last week at South Side Music Hall. The crowd witnessed some bittersweet moments, amazing performances all around, and incredible stage and lighting production throughout the night, setting the tone for a great show and an even better tour.
Hailing from the land down under, Aussie pop-punk band Yours Truly started the night off with their song ‘Back 2 U’. Lead singer Mikaila Delgado was quite thrilling to watch, her energy being the perfect mix of pop-girl perfection with an edge. As she strutted around the stage in a full lace bodysuit, guitarist Teddie Winder-Haron and drummer Henry Beard shredded through the set, ending with ‘Call My Name’.

With this tour being the final one for You Me At Six, saying the crowd was excited was an understatement. The eleven-song setlist took at least one track from each album except for “Take Off Your Colours”, providing a perfect mix for fans from every era. Lighting up the venue’s disco ball during ‘Take On The World’ was touching to say the least, making the fact that this would be their last performance in Dallas ever even more real. Capping off their set with their 2021 release ‘Beautiful Way’, the crowd roared their lyrics right back at them.

As the blinding stage lights covered the band while taking the stage, lead vocalist Rou Reynolds began the night with a spoken-word rendition of the beginning of “System / Meltdown’’, immediately breaking down into the songs heavier chorus. Enter Shikari’s production was something to marvel at, making the traditional rock venue transform into some type of underground rave. The intense strobe lights and screens on stage were the best parts of the show, Reynolds even interacting with one during ‘It Hurts’ as a pink apparition tries to reach out to him. Ending the first night of the tour was an encore of ‘(pls) set me on fire’, a remix of ‘Sorry, You’re Not A Winner’, and finally ‘A Kiss for the Whole World x’.
The North America 2024 Tour continues on until November 9, and remaining tickets can be found on Enter Shikari’s official website. This is a tour you do not want to miss!
