American post-hardcore band Alesana brought “The Trilogy Tour – Part 3: Confessions” to Trees, a local venue located in the heart of Dallas,Texas- Deep Ellum.

First up were Half Heard Voices, an American progressive metal band that was founded in Frederick, Maryland. They opened their set with “Sharp And Constant”. Other songs included were “When The Walls Would Walk”, “Shadow Frame”and “Familiar Ghosts”

Next to take over the stage were Vampires Everywhere!, they are a band from Los Angeles, California. Vampires Everywhere! started their portion of the night with “Star of 666”, “Ghost” and “Immortal Love”. Their performance was filled with so much energy, which set the tone for LIMBS.

LIMBS was the third band to take over the stage at Trees. Starting out the night with “Vertigo” followed by “Paranoid” and “Empty Vessel”. Vocalist Austin McAuley invited the crowd to “open the pit up” and with this a circle pit was created and it continued for a few more songs. LIMBS closed their set with “Coma Year”.

Finally the moment that everyone had been waiting for, Alesana took over the stage. This was the first time ever that  Alesana performed their 2015 album “Confessions” in its entirety. The album was announced as the third and final part of the Annabel trilogy. To kick off their set Alesana sang “It Was a Dark and Stormy Night” first followed by “The Acolyte” and “Comedy of Errors”. As the night continued, the crowd sang along with Shawn Milke (clean vocals), and Dennis Lee (unclean vocals).

All the band members engaged and hyped the crowd through the entire show thus creating a high energy show that allowed the crowd to immerse themselves in the music that was being played.

As Alesana continued to interact with fans, they thanked them for being part of their 20 year  music journey. As the night came to an end, Alesana sang “Catharsis” and for the encore song they picked “Fatima Rusalka”.
