X Ambassadors, New West, Rowan Drake

The historic Granada Theater located in Dallas, TX welcomed X Ambassadors and their “Townie Tour”. This tour is celebrating the release of their new album “Townie”.

At only 19, New York native, Rowan Drake was the first artist to captivate the crowd with his melodic choices and dynamic alt-pop style. His setlist included songs like “Elephant In The Room”, “Dear Ella”. “Would You Do It Again?” and “Youth”.  

Next up were New West, composed by Kala Wita, Vella, Ben Key and Noel West. Their indie-rock infused songs had the crowd dancing and singing along with them. New West sang songs such as “Main Character”, “Cold Tea”,” IYKYK” and their new song “Credits”.

American pop rock band  X Ambassadors who are from Ithaca, New York, composed by Sam Harris (lead vocalist), Casey Harris (keyboardist), and Adam Levin (drummer) took over center stage of the Granada Theater, opening their setlist with “Renegades” followed by “No Strings” and “Smoke on the Highway”. Sam dedicated the song “Your Town” off of their new album “Townie” to his  teacher, mentor, and friend Todd Peterson who passed away in 2021. Sam stated that Todd was the first person to ever get him up on a stage to sing in front of a crowd of people. Todd also taught him how to carry himself with confidence, encouraged him to be big when he felt small, and pushed him to be vulnerable. 

The voicemail that you hear at the end of the song is the last time Sam heard Todd’s voice. Todd left him a voicemail after hearing a new song of theirs. “He scolded me as usual for not calling him more” Sam texted him apologizing for not reaching out sooner and said that he would call as soon as he could. But he never did. And unfortunately Todd passed away two months later. “Your Town” is Sam’s way to thank Todd for everything he did.

X Ambassadors also sang “Happy People”, “Friend for Life”. With a piano solo as an introduction they started singing “Unsteady”. Throughout the evening every fan sang and danced along with X Ambassadors. 

X Ambassadors is definitely a band full of energy, with a spectacular stage presence, amazing vocals. X Ambassadors is band that is genuine when interacting with the crowd and with each other. You can feel the love and happiness within the venue and the time shared together that make you feel like you do not want the night to end.
