After traveling around Australia the US since early March, country turned pop-punk artist Taylor Acorn brought her first headline show to Dallas last week in the iconic House of Blues. Known for viral hits such as ‘Psycho’ and ‘Shapeshifting’, along with her new single ‘Greener’, Acorn and her supporting act World’s First Cinema began the Texan leg of the Good Enough 2024 Tour right with a sold-out crowd.
Before Acorn would make her entrance, World’s First Cinema took the stage with their electrifying opening set with the songs ‘Hold My Own’ and ‘SOS’. Headed by John Sinclair and Fil Thorpe, the band takes aspects from many genres, spinning indie, alternative, and pop with their own twist. Sinclair brought out an electric violin during multiple songs throughout the set, adding elegance to their hard-hitting sound. They did not hesitate to mention their gratitude for the crowd, sharing that this had been their biggest Dallas show to date. Ending their set with an interlude of ‘Tear of Blood’ into ‘Nightchild’, World’s First Cinema left the crowd buzzing and ready for the rest of the night.

For those who’ve never seen Taylor Acorn live, it would be hard to imagine just how much energy she packs right out of the gate. Taking the stage with ‘Gray’, Acorn started to show at the top of her game. Although admitting to have been fighting sickness throughout the tour, Acorn’s vocals were incredible as always. There was not a single still person in the crowd, jumping along with Taylor as she transitioned into ‘Wishing You Hell’ and ‘I Think I’m In Love’. During her song ‘True Crime’ she even brought out John Sinclair from World’s First Cinema to join her with his violin. It was so clear while watching the show just how much Acorn puts into her performance, making the small Cambridge Room feel larger than life. As the night came to an end, after Acorn had thanked the crowd multiple times over for their support, they ended the show with her biggest hits to date, ‘Psycho’ and ‘Shapeshifting’. Seeing Acorn jump down to the barricade to interact with as many her fans individually before she left was very touching to see, her authenticity as an artist on full display.
Although the Good Enough 2024 Tour has come to an end, you can support Taylor Acorn by streaming her newest single ‘Greener’ on all major platforms and can even catch her supporting Dashboard Confessional and Boy Like Girls on their upcoming tour!
