Waterparks, Loveless, Pollyanna

The House of Blues in Dallas TX welcomed American rock band Waterparks with supporting acts Loveless and Pollyanna for their “Sneaking Out Of Heaven” Tour.

Power-punk band Pollyanna, which is made up of lead singer and guitarist Jill Beckett, drummer Daniel McCool, bassist Brandon Bolton, and guitarist Jack Rose, were the first to take over the stage at the House of Blues in Dallas on the evening of March 29th. Right from the beginning Pollyanna’s energy could be felt through the entire venue. Some of their songs included: “SLUT”, “Relationship Anxiety” and an amazing cover of Lady Gaga’s “Judas” all while the crowd sang their lungs out. Jill’s fun and energetic vibe helped set the mood for the rest of the night.

Formed by Julian Comeau (vocalist/producer) and Dylan Tirapelli-Jamail (multi-instrumentalist), alternative rock duo from Los Angeles, Loveless, took over the stage starting their set with “Haunting Me” followed by “I Hope I’m Not Sick” and “Killing Time”. They also performed their new song “I Love It When It Rains”.  Through their entire set the fans sang along with Loveless.

Following Loveless’ set, the lights were turned off and it was time for Waterparks to take center stage. Waterparks consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Awsten Knight, backing vocalist and lead guitarist Geoff Wigington, and backing vocalist and drummer Otto Wood.

The first song to be played by the band was “Watch What Happens Next”, followed by a medley from their album “Greatest Hits” and a cover of Liz Phair “ Why Can’t I”. They also sang fan favorite ‘Stupid for You”; other songs included “SNEAKING OUT OF HEAVEN”, “FUCK ABOUT IT,” “21 Questions,” and “I Miss Having Sex but at Least I Don’t Wanna Die Anymore”. They finished their set with “Turbulent” and  “REAL SUPER DARK”

During the night, Awsten kept thanking the fans for spending the night with them at their sold out show. One of the many highlights of the night was when Awsten noticed three young fans that were in the balcony area singing and dancing along to every song the band played. At one point a crew member made it to the top and gave each one a guitar pick. The pure happiness that radiated from them was like they had won the lottery.
