As their first headline tour passes it’s midway mark, the talented Flyana Boss and opener Josh Levi brought The Bosstanical Garden Tour to the House of Blues Cambridge Room in Dallas, TX last week. After finding viral success on TikTok with their hit “You Wish”, Flyana Boss has been going nonstop, releasing more singles and the hello christ? I’m bout to sin again EP in 2023. The night was full of amazing performances, and even a couple of surprises.

Starting off the night right was an opening set from Houston native and X Factor USA finalist Josh Levi. Although some may know him from his acting roles in the show Friday Nights Lights (2006) and the movie Turning Red (2022), he absolutely holds his own as a singer and dancer. Performing songs primarily from his EPs DISC ONE (2020) and DISC TWO (2022), Levi brings an undeniable amount of flair into his choreography and stage presence. Songs like “BIRTHDAY DANCE”, “ALL OVER AGAIN”, and “EGO” display this perfectly. Even his rendition of Jazmine Sullivan’s “Lion, Tigers & Bears” brings something completely new from the original, demonstrating Levi’s vocal range with impressive runs and high notes that only he can pull off. Hearing the chatters of the crowd after his last song comparing him to artists like Usher was nothing short of inspiring as Levi continues to rise in fame.

To say Flyana Boss puts on a show-stopping performance is definitely an understatement as the pair Bobbi and Folayan took the stage to open with “UFHO”. Wearing matching lilac outfits covered in brightly colored charms, their music and on-stage personas reflect girlhood in such a positive and carefree way. They even claim it themselves, pointing out during a ‘guided meditation for bad bitches’ how sex-positive and real they strive to be, even as Folayan also shouts out her mom in attendance at the same time. Although they more than excel with their catchy raps, Flyana Boss knows how to slow it down with songs like “Trashboi”, Folayan’s high notes forming a beautiful melody as Bobbi plays an electric guitar.

With the Dallas date being a hometown show for Folayan specifically, the pair had a couple surprises up their sleeve for the crowd. Performing a mix of popular songs like ‘London Bridge”, “Misery Business”, ‘I Write Sins Not Tragedies” and many others over a ‘twerk-break’, along with  bringing out a group of dancers from her old high-school Booker T. Washington as their dance-mob performance of “You Wish” went viral on TikTok late last year. The whole night felt like a wonderful celebration of their success thus far and an exciting glimpse of what is to come.

Although their tour ends later this March with only a one-off performance at this year’s Hangout Festival, you can continue to support Flyana Boss as their new ep this ain’t the album releases March 29th on all major streaming services.
