On the evening of September 28th Texas Trust CU Theatre welcomed Becky G and her “Mi Casa, Tu casa Tour”, which is her first headlining tour.

Just a little after 6 in the evening and as the night started to cool down fans started lining up around the venue eager for the doors to open and get to their seats and to buy merchandise.

First up was Regional Mexican band Conexión Divina, an all female trio who are based in Los Angeles. For their set they sang songs that talked about love, heartbreak and jealousy like “Se Rumora”. They also sang some original Corridos like “La Receta”. Conexión Diva closed their set with an unreleased song named “No Tenerte”.

As the crowd eagerly waited for Latin-Pop singer, songwriter, actress, and activist Becky G to take center stage, DJ Awsumo, who happens to be Becky’s cousin, played an energetic set to get the fans even more pumped for the show. He played classic remixes of songs like “Atrévete-Te-Te” by Calle 13, “Gasolina” by Daddy Yankee, “La Vida Es Un Carnaval” by Celia Cruz, “Suavemente” by Elvis Crespo and Cardi B’s “I like it like that”. He also played some Kumbia Kings and that got the crowd to dance and sing while they waited for Becky to come on stage.

Finally, the moment that everyone had been waiting for, Becky G took over the stage coming out of a big box. As the fans cheered and welcomed her, Becky opened her set with “MAYORES” from her “MALA SANTA” album. Songs to follow were “FULANITO” before starting “BUEN DIA”, Becky let her fans know how grateful she is for them and how grateful she is to be able to live the life she has. Other songs in her setlist included “CUANDO TE BESE”, “DOLAR”, “ARRANCA”.

September 28th was also a very important date for Becky. Her new album “ESQUINAS’ was released, and to celebrate she took a shot of Patron with concertgoer Luis. “ESQUINAS’ features “QUERIDO ABUELO “, a song that she wrote for her late grandfather. While singing “QUERIDO ABUELO” Becky teared up making the performance that more emotional.

As the night progressed, Becky G and her back-up dancers danced the night away to the beat of song covers from Selena, in which Becky did a phenomenal job paying tribute to the Tejano Queen.

To bring the night to an end, Becky sang her hit song “Shower” which made the crowd sing and dance along one last time.
