German musician, singer, and producer, LLUCID released his highly anticipated debut album, “Deep Blue Dreams‘ ‘ on June 9th. The album has a mixture of wistful piano melodies, futuristic sounds, and poignant lyrics. With twelve tracks LLUCID is able to show his immersive and imaginative approach to music, blurring the boundaries between fantasy and reality.
LLUCID’s voice emerges from the depths, evoking a sense of cool, alienation, and warmth with the opening track, “Silence”
With this album LLUCID is able to showcase his versatility and musical prowess as he combines different genres and inspiration from artists like Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Frank Ocean, and Bon Iver. A great example of this are the songs “Manifest” which has a self-assured rap-trap style and a music video to go along with the song, while “Cast Away” has more of a mellow sound wave and melancholic vocals.
LLUCID and acclaimed New Zealand artist Kimbra worked together to not only create an extraordinary duet but to create a spacey and heart-wrenching sound that resonates with listeners on a profound level with “Wasting Time”
To complement the album’s captivating sound, LLUCID collaborated with artist Edgar Koop, whose painting graces the cover art. The artwork, a perfect visual representation of “Deep Blue Dreams”, encapsulates the ethereal and dreamy aesthetic that LLUCID meticulously crafted.
